Frequently Asked Questions

How do I reserve the kit?
Click on the "Book Now @ Appointlet" button to reserve your classroom kit.  The kits are checked out for two weeks at a time.  We encourage you to share them with other teachers at your school during the checkout period if possible.  A teacher needs to make the reservation, but a parent volunteer or other adult can pick it up and return it.  Each kit will come with a handtruck or foldable cart to transport the kit.

Where do I pick up the kit?
You can pick up and return the kit at the Tualatin Public Library by asking at the Information Desk.  The "10am pickup time" is irrelevant; it's the earliest a kit can be picked up.  It can be picked up and returned anytime the library is open.  The Tualatin Public Library hours are Monday - Thursday 10am-9pm; Friday and Saturday 10am-6pm; and Sunday 1pm-6pm.

How far in advance can I reserve a kit?
Kits can be reserved up to 90 days in advance.

What if something breaks while I'm using it?
We understand that items break sometimes when children are using them in the classroom.  Usage will only be restricted if repeated, excessive damage occurs.  Please note any damaged or missing parts on the checkout sheet.

Who can I contact if I need assistance?
If you need assistance or part of the kit isn’t working correctly, please contact Lauren Simon at lsimon@tualatin.gov or 503.691.3077.  Lauren is in the office Tuesday – Saturday.

Can I book the mobile makerspace for a community event?
